Software Tester – Mobile Game Testing [Project-based]

Location: On-site / Hybrid
Type: Project-based
Application deadline: May 13, 2025
Start date: As soon as possible

Join Altom as a Software Tester

We’re looking for avid learners, curious minds, and critical thinkers to join our team as Software Testers for a project focused on mobile game testing. If you enjoy exploring how things work (and how they can break), are passionate about gaming and continuous learning, and want to be part of a friendly, quality-driven team, this could be the opportunity for you.

This is a project-based role for a mobile game project, with the possibility of continuing the collaboration on future testing projects.

What you’ll do

As a Software Tester at Altom, you’ll work closely with developers and other QA professionals to ensure the quality and functionality of various applications, starting with games and mobile testing, in particular. Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Doing exploratory testing on mobile games on different devices and platforms.
  • Designing tests using various techniques, including scenario and user testing.
  • Thoroughly investigating bugs and tracking them in a bug tracking system.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in a respectful, professional manner
  • Learning and experimenting with new tools, frameworks, and testing approaches

What game testing involves

Game testing is a unique blend of structured exploration and validation. It’s not just about playing the game. It’s about observing it, dissecting its mechanics, designing powerful tests, and investigating what happens when things don’t go as planned.

You’ll be navigating the same game builds multiple times, testing different features, updates, and scenarios. Some tasks may involve specific areas of the game, while others require looking at the broader player experience. Your role is essential in helping the team deliver a smooth and enjoyable experience to players around the world.

It takes focus, patience, and a keen eye for detail, plus the imagination to approach the game from different angles and anticipate how diverse players might interact with it.

What we’re looking for

We’re less concerned about checkboxes and more interested in how you think and how you grow. However, we are looking for a few key characteristics that will help us find our next teammate. Therefore, you might be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Are keen on technology & gaming
  • Have worked before in a technical area
  • Have excellent knowledge of English
  • Have a critical and analytical mindset
  • Enjoy learning new tools, concepts, and workflows
  • Are proactive, organized, and responsible
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Be open to building and developing advanced skills – from exploratory testing to working with mobile devices, and test automation
  • See feedback as an opportunity for growth, not a setback

Previous experience in software testing or QA is a plus, but not a must. If you’ve tested games, mobile apps, or even just explored bugs for fun, we want to hear about it.

Why work with us

At Altom, we care about quality – not only in the software we test, but in the way we collaborate and grow together. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A supportive, friendly culture that encourages learning and curiosity
  • Opportunities to expand into test automation, tools, and new types of projects
  • A team that shares knowledge, gives meaningful feedback, and works with intention

How to apply

If this sounds like a role that fits your mindset and interests, we’d love to hear from you. Please fill out the application form, and tell us more about your experience, interests, and what excites you about this opportunity.
